Infection is Likely

According to the blood tests, it looking more like Briggs has an infection. What they will try to do now is determine the source by culturing the blood for specific bacteria so they know what kind of antibiotic to use. There's also a chance that he has a virus, so the doctors wants to wait a day to see if his fever subsides on it's own and he starts feeling better. Waiting makes me nervous if there's a chance some infection is growing in him (likely it's a blood infection, bladder or wound) - but I defer to the doctors and thankfully I have a few doctor friends that are able to walk me through the options with more clarity and peace.
We thought taking him in a wagon might make him happy, but nope! And, certainly this pathetic lunch wouldn't make anyone happy! We had to take a picture of it, it's so funny. They know about all his food allergies, so that's what he got. I think we'll stick with formula and baby food for now!

Maybe the next time we see eachcother...you can push me in a wagon!? It looks like a pretty good ride! My fingers are crossed that there is no infection! Briggs is certainly proving to be quite the strong little boy! He's looking better and better with each photo...if that is of any consolation! Hang in there! Pretty soon this will all be a distant memory and Briggs will be running around with the Olson Gang in hot pursuit unable to catch up with the little man! LOTS OF LOVE!

Dear Olsons,
In spite of how fried you must be, THANK YOU for providing this blog; it is so nice to be able to follow Briggs's progress. We've seen Gabby dropping the girls off at preschool, and spirits seem high. As Briggs soldiers thru his recovery, know that you all are in our thoughts. Hang in there, and please let us know if we can help with anything.

I dont know any relative of a Discovery student who does NOT have a fever this month, so hopefully that is all it is. (Not that that's any fun, but it's better than the alternative). Secondly, i commend you both so much for maintaining a sense of humor (the gourmet meal photo) throughout this when you must be running on no more than fumes and love. It shows your strength. and it shows the need for a more creative chef in the cafeteria. if that's the alternative, he'll either be super skinny or he'll still be on his bottles in college. Is he holding up his head in this photo? We were THRILLED to see M&M in school today for the birthday celebration. Playdate/sleepover options still stand. I hope you're sleeping more in that room.
