Briggs has been moaning and very uncomfortable. He kicked off his ankle lines and generally is not happy. They have been afraid to give him any painkillers that might affect is blood pressure and respiration, but finally they agreed to give him Versed (in is picture) which helped him settle down quite a bit. Now we just have to keep him happy for four more hours until we can give him just a little bit to eat, which is what he really wants. It's been almost 24 hours without food and he's getting MAD! They don't let you eat in case there are any complications that would force you to go back into the Operating Room.

oh little fella! i'd be ripping out ankle lines too if i couldnt eat for 24 hours! that always was the worst part of surgery. i hope the meds comfort him enough to be able to stay calm and finally get some food.
hang in! what a long day for you two! we are 'on call' with hosting the girls, and sarah and grace are delighted at the idea of seeing them. Grace: "Maybe we could ask them what they like to do with their mommy and try to do the same thing here. it's been a long time they havent seen their mommy."
I hope he was more comfortable over night. Poor little guy! I am so glad that everything went smoothly and praying for a quick and comfortable recovery. Sending our love, Kathryn
Jody Brennan has been keeping me updated on your little Briggs... I have two little ones of my own and can't begin to imagine what your family is going through.
Please know we are sending you well wishes and love. I believe in the power of family and yours looks to be amazingly strong.
We wish you the best!

what a trooper! I'm so glad to hear that Briggs' surgery went smoothly. Hopefully he'll find some comfort soon, the Olson family always had that magic touch. My thoughts and love are with you all, and give everyone a huge hug for me (especially Briggs)!
All my love,
Frissy
a good night for you all? how is he this morning?
